This time around I decided to try with simpler/cheaper helicopters known as Fixed Pitch heli’s and I’m having a blast and learning well. I got two models, one for inside that is tiny and one for outside. The inside one is the Walkera 4#3b and the outside one is a E-Sky HoneyBee FP. Both are very sturdy (I’ve crashed them a bunch of times) and I can actually fly them from behind reasonably well now. I need to learn how to fly them with the nose pointing at me (controls are reverse, like a mirror). That is going to be much harder. The 4#3b is basically stock, but I followed the excellent directions of the HBFP Wiki for putting in a slow-max motor, Direct Drive tail and M24 blades on the HBFP so that it can handle light wind better.

Also I really managed to test the 18-200VR lens vibration reduction. It works great! The picture below was taken indoors, ISO 200, at 1/13th of a second and it still came out quite sharp. What a huge difference it makes.

The plane they chartered was a Falcon 900B. Here is the link to the company that operates it. Only $5600/hour
